Youth who drink alcohol are more likely to experience unwanted, unplanned, and unprotected sexual activity.
The path of alcohol in the body is as follows: mouth, stomach, small intestine, heart, brain and the liver.
Alcohol oxidizes when it gets into the human system; this process occurs at the rate of an ounce in two or three hours. For 100-proof whisky, which is up to fifty per cent alcohol, this would mean that 8 ounces of whisky would be gone from the body in less than 12 hours; most of the alcohol would be breathed away, but some of it would be lost through sweat or urine.
"Social use" of alcohol consists of an occasional drink in the company of friends: a glass of champagne at a wedding, a cold beer after a softball game, or a glass of fine wine with a meal; social drinking has not been shown to kill brain cells, nor is there any research that indicates that occasionally having an alcoholic beverage adversely affects any major body organ.
